My Project Studio

Core Setup The studio core is a Focusrite Sapphire Pro40 ADC with 8 24-bit input channels directly hooked up to the analog modular synthesizers, and simple analog mixer setup with an Lenovo PC for recording songs and samples:

Analog Modular Synthesizers My analog synthesizers are all home built and each one is designed to replicate a particular original design. The modules are housed in MDF cabinets painted blue, with 19" rack systems and remote power supplies. In time the MDF will be replaced with nice teak/ash hand made cabinets.

Whilst the E-mu System replica has custom aluminum panels, lack of funds means that the SCI and some of the FracRac's use painted PCB's as temporary panels. When I am rich I'll replace them with aluminum panels. A Test Synth is used during the development stage of modules. It contains an E-mu System VCO, ARP 4075 filter,
E-mu Systems LFO and an Oakley Audio Mixer.

Test Gear To support the R&D work I have acquired the following second hand test equipment over the years, it works very well:

  • Fluke 5.5 digit Digital Multi Meter
  • High quality HP Frequency Counter
  • Handheld Fluke 4.5 digit multimeter
